National Institute of Disaster Management is an apex institute at the national and regional level for capacity building, training, research and documentation on various aspects of disaster risk mitigation and management. The Institute has recently been designated to be the SAARC Center for Disaster Management in South Asia.

India Meteorological Department Established in 1875 Indian Meteorological Department is the national meteorological service of the country and the principal agency in all matters relating to meteorology, seismology and allied subjects.

National Remote Sensing Agency is an operational center under Department of Space for receiving and distributing the remote sensing data and providing end-to-end applications for various uses including disaster management.

Indian Space Research Organization is one of the leading space agencies in the world. The communication and remote sensing satellites of ISRO provide state-of-the-art support services for natural disaster management in the country. 

Indian Council of Agricultural Research co-ordinates education and research on agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, fisheries etc, which include practices for mitigating natural disasters on these sectors.

University of Delhi Established in 1922 University of Delhi is a premier University of the country offering graduation, post graduation and research degrees through its 35 Departments and 81 affiliated colleges.

Indian Council of Medical Research is one of the oldest medical research bodies in the world engaged in the formulation, coordination and promotion of biomedical research.

Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industries With a nationwide membership of over 1500 corporates and over 500 chambers of commerce and business associations, FICCI is the rallying point for free enterprises in India. FICCI has collaborated with NIDM and Ministry of Science and technology in organizing a number of workshops and seminars on disaster management in the country.

The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM), India's premier apex chamber covers a membership of over 100,000 companies and professionals across the country. It was established in 1920 by promoter chambers, representing all regions of India. As an apex industry body, ASSOCHAM represents the interests of industry and trade, interfaces with Government on policy issues and interacts with counterpart international organizations to promote bilateral economic issues.
